Stomach is the most common extranodal site of primary NHL. FFDG PET is a noninvasive functional imaging technique that is capable of evaluating tissue metabolism and has shown promise in oncologic imaging. Increase in FDG uptake has been demonstrated in various malignant tumors. However, the usefulness of F-FDG PET in patients with mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) lymphoma is still controversial. We report a case of gastric MALT lymphoma which was not visualized on F-FDG PET and Ga-citrate scintigraphy.

Role of 18F-FDG PET Scans in Patients with Helicobacter pylori-Infected Gastric Low-Grade MALT Lymphoma
BACKGROUND/AIMS Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) plays a crucial role in the assessment and treatment of low-grade gastric mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) lymphoma; however, interobserver variation, inadequate accuracy in judging the depth of tumor invasion, and histological heterogeneity of the tumor can limit its role. Thus, we have assessed the role of (18)F-FDG PET scans in the manageme...
متن کاملSensitivity of gallium scintigraphy for evaluation of recurrent lymphoma: Comparison of planar and SPECT imaging
Introduction: Although PET scanning using F-18[FDG] is considered the superior radiotracer for tumnor imaging, Gallium-67 is still in use for some malignancies such as lymphoma and hepatoma. One of the strategies to improve the diagnostic accuracy of Gallium is to perform SPECT which is reported to be more sensitive compared to planar imaging. In this study we compa...
متن کاملSUVmax/THKmax as a Biomarker for Distinguishing Advanced Gastric Carcinoma from Primary Gastric Lymphoma
BACKGROUND Gastric carcinoma and primary gastric lymphoma (PGL) are the two most common malignancies in stomach. The purpose of this study was to screen and validate a biomarker of (18)F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography/computed tomography ((18)F-FDG PET/CT) for distinguishing advanced gastric carcinoma (AGC) from PGL for clinical applications. METHODOLOGY/PRINCIPAL FINDINGS We...
متن کاملIntense 18F-FDG activity in aortoiliac bypass graft mimicking infection
RATIONALE F-fluorodeoxyglucose (F-FDG) positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) has the potential to become an important imaging tool for the diagnosis of suspected aortoiliac bypass graft infection (AGI). PATIENT CONCERNS A 76-year-old man presented with incidental findings of intense F-FDG activity in previous operation site of aortobiiliac bypass graft in the initial stagi...
